Bloody hell..

Phenom II X4 965 Stock heatsink is loud as hell.Anyone else got stupid ammount of noise while using it ?

Have you got it secured properly and everything? I've not noticed that mine is THAT loud, but it's quite loud. Although I do have some insulation in my case.

Swap it out for a different one :D

They are loud when spinning fast
Swap it out for a decent Heatsink if the noise bothers you.

If you only lightly load the CPU the Stock Heatsink is OK but up the thermal output a bit and the fan spins at very high RPM creating lots of noise.

Im not sure on this but is the stock Fan PWM capable? If so you need to enter the BIOS and look for the fan control section that allows you to set the fan profile to 'silent' or 'optimal'. Failing this it's worth investing in a decent cooler. Something like this would be ideal and produce a lot less noise than the stock cooler.

I thought it was quiet, well on the machine I built the bios was setting the fan speed rather than it being 100% all the time, Cool N quiet or a similar feature, could try that just make sure your temps are ok.

Temps are fine, cool n quiet is on, but its not what I mean, its in games that it gets loud. sounds like 100% o_O

I have the 955 and have a similar problem.I play a game for 20 mins then somebody presses the cyclone button in my computer and i have to turn the volume up a bit.My temps seem fine.
Going to get the arctic cooler 7 R2 and see if that helps it at all.

It annoyed me when my 965 goes above 40% load, replaced it with a Titan Fenrir and a couple of Asaka Apache fans, now everything is perfect :)

A loud spinning heatsink? Whatever next!

Seriously, I know what you mean. I ditched the stock for a Titan Fenrir after a month. The stock is pants for overclocking.

It's almost obligatory to swap the hideously loud stock cooler with a quieter solution. I went mad hearing it!

Might be worth investing in say a Gelid tranquillo or coolermaster Hyper 212 plus.

Have always bought an independant cooler when buying a cpu & never used the stock. A little research saves headaches in the long run.

I swapped my stock cooler on my 1090T after I heard it ;)
Installed a Frio yesterday, now silent even with the side off. Running at stock speeds atm
