I was driving through town earlier when the lights ahead of me started to change. Amber had been on a few seconds and I was about 50 yards from the junction.

I could have made it if I was feeling a little frisky, but I decided to brake instead. Admittedly, I braked a little harder than I normally would have, purely because the changing lights had caught be by surprise.

I stopped in plenty of time, though, and looked up in my rearview mirror to see some angry 30-odd-year-old bloke shaking his head. As the lights turned green again, he came into the left hand lane to turn left, looking at me and shouting something. Obviously I couldn't hear what he said, so I just smiled at him in an attempt to exact revenge/annoy him for being so impatient.

Basically, he thought he could've made it through the lights as well as me, and I annoyed him by not going through. Also, what the chuff was he doing in my right hand lane when he wanted to turn left? It's entirely his fault if I caused him to brake a little harder than he would've liked.

It's damn irritating. I wanted to follow him and ask him what the hell his problem was.

ARGH.

The joys of driving on the roads :)
Probably broke up with his missus or something.

Another a thread about bad driving from others.. you did right though, why risk going over a light if you can stop safely. If he'd hit you. it was due to him being too close.. His fault not yours.

You did right to not chase him either, and I always laught at them as well...

Too much salt in his diet I expect. Either that or ugly wife, one of those two :D

It must be a feature of London driving but when I was in Kentish town, I was getting beeped at all the time for now blocking box junctions, crossings or access to side roads in slow moving/stationary traffic. Leave them to it, thats my view...the mugs :D
