Bloody Pigeons nesting under solar panels

They are crapping everywhere and making a racket keeping us up at night. They can also damage the solar panel wiring
Why didn't the installer muppets put something in to stop this? Knowing almost nothing about solar panel installations, surely this is standard practice for all except cowboys?

Or a scarecrow in the back garden.

Clear them out and block the gaps. Seems odd that there wasn't anything implemented on installation to prevent nesting.

none install this as standard as apparently it depends on the area and the house. some will have issues other's wont.

so why install something if they don't need it?

I have panels and I had to pay a company to install bird proofing. It's a common thing. Try rubber snakes first as mentioned above. Cheaper to spend £30 on some snakes than £300+ on proofing.

Sounds an awful lot like he did need it .

yes it should be an option an add on as standard with the install. for some reason solar panel companies don't offer it as it will likely put people off buying them and it means more cost to the consumer.

this is who I used to do mine if anyone needs it done in Scotland.

I did complain to my installation company but all the guy on the phone said was try rubber snakes. I was like it took you 9 months to reply to me and i had meshing installed 3 months ago so you are a bit late now.

oh btw my installer was IKEA. you know the biggest furniture company in the world who are in partnership with solar century.

they didn't help 1 jot with the pigeon issue and said the majority don't need them. however it's the perfect environment for pigeons. up high on a roof. perfect shelter underneath from the environment. especially in snow, etc. they also tend to filly your gutters up with crap they collect like twigs, etc.

since i got mine done i've not had a single pigeon come near my roof. next door neighbour hasn't had it done and they have at least 10 birds on their roof every time i drive past.

As the title says we have a pretty large amount of pigeons nesting under our solar panels. Whats the best way to get the buggers out and keep them out. Im assuming what ever we do its going to be expensive? Thanks
You can get 'proper' bird protection for PV panels, might be worth a look if you want something substantial.

The company I work for supplies them amongst other things, I'm sure that any PV supplier will be able to offer a product though.
