Hi guys,

I am in the process of a project and some mods to a case.

I havent been able to find any information here about how to do this, but I would like to get a blood splatter effect on my side panel,

Can anyone suggest a good paint to use and tips to make the splatter look ok?

I want to do a full panel so it will need to be large splatter meaning I can't use the spray paint on a piece of cardboard trick.

^ He obviously wants to do it with paint on his case...

The best way to get the effect is to actually splatter the paint on with a brush. If it's spray paint then spray into a container until you have enough.

If you're using normal paint then you'll want to thin it (water/turpentine for water/oil based paints), until it's the consistency of blood.

Could could even use a syringe, minus the needle, to get the effect of it pumping from an artery or similar.

Once it's all dry you'll want to do 5-6 thin coats of clear lacquer in order to stop it from chipping off.

Like already mentioned , thinned down paint and a wide paint brush . You can either hold the brush diagonally and pull the bristles back then letting go so they flick . Or hold it the same and tap the metal bit causing it to flick . Just practice on some old paper or card board boxes to find the way you feel comfortable in doing it it .
