bloomin petrol prices..

Optimax was 6ppl more, then when they re-branded it to VPower, it seemed to go up to 7ppl more, now it's 99 octane, it's gone up to 8ppl more.

When I move, my nearest will be Tesco, so I'll be shoving their Momentum99 into my VR-4.

I can really us getting properly screwed with this 'fuel stabiliser', the results of the consultation on which will be announced in the March 23rd budget.

There is increasing sentiment that the current oil price is a bubble and we will see modest reductions in the medium term (Though the long term trend is upwards).

Therefore I can see a 'fair' fuel stabilser being introduced at the budget with the 'aim' of 'capping' the fuel price at its current level.

Then the oil price will fall but the fuel price wont, because of course under the concept of a stabiliser if oil prices go up, duty is reduced but if oil prices go down..

....duty is increased.

The 'stabiliser' will only be 'fair' if the base price is set to £1 a litre. This clearly wont happen.

At £80 a tank for 25mpg plus tax, insurance and wear it is HALF the cost of a train season ticket for 80mile+ round trip everyday.

By that reckoning i rather pay gov tax than stinking railway companies

Meh with your (OP) milage it'll make bugger all difference.

I filled the Mitsu up a a couple of days ago ( was nearly empty) for 91 euros, 1,54€ per liter, 2 days later my tank was half empty again and I threw in another 50 euros... 50 euros for 2 days of driving, that stings a bit :(.
Stuff gets more expensive unfortunately.
