Blotchy graphics in Aliens Dark Descent

Are you referring to the banding in the black areas?
It's predominantly in black areas yes. I'm not exactly sure what banding is, but besides my use of "blotchy", I would describe the issue as what should be one solid area of colour instead having patches of pixels made up of a similar tone, creating an ugly effect.
Specs of the laptops? Including the type of panel they use if you know
4090 gpu, i9-13900HX Processor and the panel is WQXGA (2560 x 1600), IPS.

First thing I would try is in the Nvidia control panel make sure the output range at the bottom is set to full.

I think it's under the change resolution sub menu but not 100% off the top of my head. Also set it to RGB mode if it's not.

Your monitor might even support 10 bit colour so could try that to.
I'll have a look, thanks.

I have noticed that when the dgpu is in use, windows is detecting a second display (in device manager they both appear as Lenovo DisplayHDR), could that be an issue?
