Blown Away by Quality of Aftermath!

Right, some background.

I have owned BF3 since release and bought premium some time ago, but never really got hooked on the game.

I thought I would check out the new aftermath maps to see if they were any good.

WOW.

These are the finest maps of the entire BF3 collection imo, I'm blown away by the quality of these maps. I think I will now play BF3 just so I can play on these maps, and perhaps I'll get hooked on the other maps in doing that.

Anyone else think that aftermath is a brilliant quality expansion?

Anyone else who didn't think much of bf3 before think aftermath is fantastic?

Not even downloaded it yet, looked similar to one of the BO2 maps in multiplayer.

Will give it a bash this weekend :D
 
I was on them for first time last night on the cq247 server. Thought they were awesome.

only popped in for 5 mins to have a look ended up staying 3 hours.
 
Hmmmm gave up on BF3 after a couple of weeks as it was just poor and the maps were awful.

Maybe I just take a look.....?

Do it, great maps. Very apocalyptic. Somehow they seem to actually promote defending an objective, meaning you get fairly massive sustained firefights around a single objective, rather than the usual pattern of running around the map capturing the points in succession. Great fun.
 
i thought most the new stuff was pretty meh (particularly the van with a remote turret but horribly exposed driver/gunner ...wth?), however Markaz Monolith is absolutely epic, especially trying to fly around in a scout chopper!

Another plus is I like how they've really gone to town on the destruction effects this time round

Yeah not a fan of being sniped while in the gunner turret, especially if it's because the driver just pulls up somewhere random.

Not really tried flying choppers yet, could go horribly wrong...
