dang it, looks like my 6800 is busted, did a bios flash for a vcore mod for 1.4v all was running fine at 450mhz core when running ati tool. then all of a sudden the pc shutdown. now all that happens is the system won't power up with the card in it. and if i remove the molex power connector for the card then the system turns on but keep making a loud beeping sound and i get no post.

system is up and running now with a gf3 card. not sure if card can be repaired since its not even booting up in a system when using a pci gfx card.

oh well its time for a new gfx card now anyways.

how does a x1800gto compare to my old 6800 which was fully unlocked?

hmm may just go for the x1800gto since its only 120 quid at my local store.

can't rma the 6800 cuz its way over a year old.

the x1800xt on this site is a tempting offer too for £178 ish inc vat and delivery.

not sure which way to go.

also the standard ocuk delivery the citylink option is it next day delivery? if so if i order tomorrow would my card arrive for tuesday?

Yeah that right :)

ahh i found out what could have happened to the 6800 card. riva tuners logs show that the core voltage was at 2.15v something musg have got shafted in the flash cuz thats a very stupidly high voltage.

ok iv ordered the 7600gt top price for only £97.50 inc vat and delivery. should be here wednesday. wonder how much quicker it will be than my busted 6800nu. at least i get all the pure video functions too with hardware video acceleration. :D

Good luck mate, I hope nothing else was broke along the way but I doubt it as it seems like the voltage was wacked up on the card that caused the problem. I have only ever blown one card but could have cryed but managed to rma it.
Let us know your results mate.

heh, exactly what i did. blew the 6800 with a bios flash :o
and then had a 7600GT, i find it quite a large increase compared to the 6800nu
purevideo is rather good aswell ;)

o and the pencil mod is good, at 680/1750 atm :D

cool, the rest of my pc is fine, im running a gf3 ti 200 in it but its very laggy in general windows since there is no x64 driver for the card. im gonna get a 6200agp card tomorrow which will last me till wednesday when the 7600gt arrives. the 6200 can then go into the media centre pc i built and it gets the added functions of purevideo which are needed in a media centre setup.

the 7600gt doesn't have a power connector on it, and it seems from reviews that the card consumes less power than my old 6800 card. quite shocking that.

anyone know how tombraider legend runs on the 7600gt with next generation content enabled? was laggy as hell on me old 6800nu at even 800x600
