Blown out Woofer - how to replace it?

Hello!

I dusted off my old (30 year old) separates last week and put some old bassy tracks through them. It seems the rubber has worn out on the woofers so they sound raspy and dreadful. I like the speakers so just want to replace the woofer units. Has anyone else ever done this - what do I need to buy exactly?

If the woofer is ok (as in motor coil etc) just the rubber perished you could try reconing them. Not that expensive probably less than a tenner including the adhesive.

Ah! TIL! Thank you. I'll look into that as well as an option. Will consider doing both speakers whilst I'm at it.
