Blown PSU- need help

Hi there,
Recently completed my first build, but had a slightly major problem with the Power Supply. After essembling all the components in my Asus Vintage V3-M3N8200 Barebones System, I decided to power up. I plugged the mains adaptor into the mains and flicked the PSU switch on the back of the case. There was a cracking sound from inside the case, in the PSU, and a slight flash of light. After trying to power up again, nothing would happen.
I have been lead to believe that the PSU has blown for some reason. I'm exactly sure what to do, should I just buy a new PSU, or send the entire Barebone back to Overclockers?
Could the blown PSU have caused any damage to the motherboard or other components as they were plugged in at the time?

Cheers, any feedback would be great.

If you've just bought it, ring overclockers and they should replace it. It may have damaged other components, hard to say without sticking a new PSU in to test it.

Just brought a new PSU, connected it and the little LED on the motherboard has come on, so I guess there's power to it. When i press the on button on the front of the case, nothing happens... any suggestions?

Its possible the mobo could be cooked from the powerspike caused by the PSU blowing due to incorrect voltage input...

but also could be cables in the wrong places yes, do you have the manual?

No, it came as a barebone system.

Also before the PSU blew, it was doing the same thing, the green light would be on, but once I flicked the ON switch, nothing would happen.

It's an Asus Nvidia 8200 chipset.

I've played around with the plugs and stuff now and the little light is still showing. Yet when I press the ON button, none of the fans start or anything like they should.

Is there an Asus Q connecter which the front panel wires connect to then that connects onto the motherboard.
The power switch connectors should be fitted on the bottom row on pins 3 & 4.

You could try touching these two pins with the end of a small screwdriver to see if it starts up.
