Hi. I'm using a Sanyo VPC SH1 camcorder and recording at 1980 x 1080 at 60FPS. It stores the files on my PC in MP4 Video (.MP4) format.
I have Roxio 2011 Pro and Pinnacle Studio 14 HD but whichever program i use to record onto Blu Ray the footage is always choppy/jerky. I've also tried to make an AVCHD DVD, again the output is still choppy.
If anyone can help then here's a couple a questions ... When I'm editing the video together what is the best format to save the edited footage on? - What is the best format to save edited footage for Blu Ray burning?
This was all a doddle with my my Standard Def camcorder but stepping up to Hi Def has given me a headache :confused:

Blu-ray doesn't support 1080/60p, it'll also be a nightmare to edit as it'll take some serious processing power to decode the AVC codec, at 1080/60p it takes even more power! Also to watch it properly you'd need a true 120hz TV/Monitor.

Just looking at the specs of that camcorder it says it's only 60i at 1920x1080, sure you're not shooting 720/60p?

...looking through the manual i see i'm recording at 1920x1080 @60i . It records at 60 fields/second. Not sure what the difference is between 60 fields/second and 60 frames/second :confused:
Heres the video info i'm trying to edit and put onto Blu Ray ....

Any help to put this smoothly onto Blu Ray would be very very very appreciated :D

Ok, so the camera is actually shooting at 59.94i (rounded up to 60i), this is a standard format for the US. The camera shoots at 60 fields a second, 2 fields make up a frame so your frame rate is actually 30fps.

So to burn to Blu-ray you need to use the correct settings, which will look like one of the following depending on your software;

1080i/59.94
1080i/60

or possibly;

1080i/29.97
1080i/30

That should do the trick.
