PC Specs:
Asus Radeon 4850 1GB (HDCP certified)
Samsung 2033SW 20" monitor (connected via DVI)
Athlon X2 6000+ CPU
2GB Corsair RAM
Sony BDU-X10S BD-ROM drive
Cyberlink PowerDVD 7.3 (updated and patched as far as I can go, or at least find)
--------------------------------------------------------
Now heres my problem:
I can play normal DVDs fine but when I try to play Blu-ray discs it just comes up with what I can only describe as a very dark pink screen (ie the screen is empty but it isn't black). I did try a trial version of PowerDVD v9 but that just quit itself after a few seconds. Also the timer only goes up to 11 seconds.
I have also tried AnyDVD to no effect

Any ideas? Thanks

According to the cyberlink site you need -

PowerDVD 7 Ultra or PowerDVD 8 Ultra.

Note: An easy way to determine whether your version of PowerDVD supports Blu-ray Discs is to look for the Blu-ray Disc logo on the main screen of PowerDVD. If you don't see this logo, it is likely your version of PowerDVD doesn't support Blu-ray Discs.

Do you get sound?

Is Your Monitor hdcp compatible of you tried the BD advisor

http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/bd-support/enu/index.jsp.

It will tell you if any of your pieces are not compatible

Yeh I was thinking the monitor was the only question but searched EVERYWHERE and I can't find any info on the matter.
I take it just because it has DVI connection makes it HDCP?
I DID try AnyDVD (as previously mentioned) to no effect.
ALso don't get any sound
