Hi all just quick question on if PC Blu Ray drives are encrypted with region A B or C etc?

I want to watch Dexter on blu ray but its only available for US import! i don't want to order it and then find my drive wont pay it :(

thanks in advance

You can get region free firmware for the drive ( depending on what drive it is )Wont be official firmware tho , But if i am not mistaken you can change the region code on the drive upto 5 times before it locks on the 5 time , anyone wish to clarify this , not done a firmware update in ages not change the region settings.

just download a free trial of anydvd, install the software, then just pop your disk in

This will allow you to watch DVD's and blu-ray movies from any where in the world without changing the region code of the drive. It also has many other features like slowing down the drive for movies, skipping adverts and trailers,

im not sure if its like that on all blu ray drives, but on mine you can change the region 5 times and then it locks it.

Ive got the LG CH08LS10 from OCuk. I need to be 100% sure that i can play the series before I order it as i dont want to waste my money.

ill have a look at that anydvd, thanks.

Afaik it's always been like that since DVDs were available.

There were some apps that could allow you to bypass the DVDs current region and play it regardless on which region your DVD/Blu ray player was set.

Think one of them was called DVD region free or something similar.
