Blu ray Software

HI

I just got a blue ray drive for my media center PC and it was oem so literally just came with the device and nothing else.
I have initially been looking for a "freeware" solution to playing blu ray's on it but saw that it's really powerdvd etc that do the job properly without too much hassle.
I was wondering if this really was the case, or has some one found a free solution as I really dont want to fork out for this software, but will if it's really the best option. Thanks!!

I tried VLC (personal fave) but alas no luck, I did read you could browse the biggest file on the disk (.mt2 or some thing) which is usually the main movie file and play that direct but also got nowhere. Not tried MPCH though, I'll have a read about see if that can't fit the bill etc. thanks! Will let you know.
#edit# Looks like it might do the job, found this quote in one of the software revisions log "Open DVD detect and open Blu Ray main movie"

hmmm "cannot render file" trying play main movie or just opening the drive etc?

Thanks guys, for any one interested I just had to get a copy of anydvd-hd and now vlc can play the main stream file and home cinema classic will open the disc and start playing automatically. Powerdvd kept telling me my system was not hdcp compliant and so had to be refunded and returned. Same with arc soft trial although that was the better of the 2 softwares. I think the problem was my tv and could have used powerdvd/arc if i used vga instead of hdmi but that felt like going backwards really. I guess the silver lining is the optional "backup" functionality I now have at my disposal for blu ray discs! Thanks again
