Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD @ CES

Sure they want to be there when downloads take off (as does Apple, Sony, Netflix etc) but I really think the constant conspiracy theories are getting a little desperate.

Even when they come from someone such as Michael Bay??

Lol, especially when they come from Michael Bay. Wasn't he drunk the last time he proferred his wisdom?

only when he said he wouldn't make TF2, when he went on about MS paying 100 million to paramount to get both formats to fail, he was sober and stood by his comments.

Well Amir who works for MS (his real name) in the Insiders thread on the AVSForum went on the record to say MS didn't pay anyone anything.

Michael Bay did a drunk post rant on his blog after having dinner with his mates.

Yes, seems more likely MS are lying and Bay is right.

Considering the price and packages of PS3 doing the rounds with free games and under £280 in some cases is it wise to spend say £100- £120 on a X360 BD drive only?

Therefore basically for another £160 approx you get a 2nd great console, mmmm

Its a waste if you don't want another console like me, something that uses more power, more space and is more expensive.

more space? you forgetting that brick of a power supply you need for your xbox? the ps3 is actually a more compact design.

I already have a 360 - Im not selling it for a PS3 :p Id rather die tbh. I meant buying an add-on for a console I already have gives me more space than buying a PS3

No point buying the add on (if there will be one) for the 360 really anyway, they aint gonna use it for games. May aswell just get a stand alone blu-ray player for cheaper, it probably wont die either.

dual players all round then. I love my HD DVD player havent tried a blu ray player and quite frankly im not bothered about trying one either. Until they bring out a reasonably priced stand alone player.
