Didnt have a clue as to weather the CPU would work in the board i bought or weather the monster of a heatsink would fit! but i bought it all anyway

i'm glad to say that it all fits & works together :)

The billy bonus bit is that because of where the RAM & northbridge are situated the ThermalTake Blue Orb II cools them at the same time too :D

The bad news is i dont think i can remove the RAM without taking the heatsink off :( (allthough you can't see it, it is under the top part of the heatsink)

Perfect heatsink for a turion :) The lack of an IHS doesnt matter because it screws down and theres quite good clearence. What temps and clocks are you getting?

Yea, i just kept on screwing until i could screw no further :p

It's an ML-30 so 1.6GHz stock and it runs nice and stable @ 265x8 (2.12GHz). temps are 28~29 idle and creep up to 35 full full load. 1M SuperPI run only gets it to 32c. With that monster heatsink the temps drop back super rapidy :D

I'm a bit of a newb to all this AMD OCing so getting my head around billions of RAM timings & HTT things  im getting there slowly, but... the swiftech watercooling gear should be turning up monday :D more complications

Not bad considering the low multiplyer, is it unlocked on the mobile chip?

HTT is quite simple, don't let it go over 1000mhz. Set it to 4x multi and you are good for 250mhz fsb, 3x is ok for up to 300-330 and 2x for higher if it needs that (which I doubt it will)

First dibs on thermaltake for when the water cooling comes :p Building a pentium D 805 rig :)

unfortunatly the max multiplier is 8 :(

but upto 270 now :)

bit of a daft question, but whats the easiest way to find out the HTT stuff in windows?

I'm ammasing a nice collection of heatsinks at the momen, gotta CAK38 (Old skool Skt A), Hyper 6, XP90 & blue orb II :D

CPU-Z should tell you all the details in windows.

How is the blue orb II, is it quiet when it's at load and quiet at idle?
Just wondering as i'm going to be ordering it tonight.

It's quite Quiet :)

It constantly spins @ 1600~1650 rpm doesnt vary at all.
It's a pleasent soft air moving noise, not a delta whine

The cooler on my 7600GT drowns it out!

The HTT doent display! i get FSB instead, might be the same!
