I am having problems installing the Tt Blue Orb II.(Socket 775)
I have tried Removing and installing it and reapplying thermal paste many times but with no luck.
The problem is that my pc will not boot when the Tt is fitted but work fine with the standard intel heatsink and fan.

I am using a Gigabyte GA-8N-Sli pro with a Pentium D 3.4 Processor.
The Specified max weight for heatsink+fan for Intels is 450g or there abouts and the Tt is 869g nearly double.Althogh this cooler is meant to be cmpatible with my MB and Dualcore

Has anyone had an problems installing one or have any advice please tell me.Because it is otherwise heading for the bin before I damage my processor.

erm stupid question but did u make sure u plugged in the fan or if the fan has failed onteh heatsink then it will not boot up as detect it as an error.

should be compatible, do you know that the cooler works for sure? got another rig to try it on, i have a GorbII, they are heavy but that should not stop them from working at all. Perhaps its the low RPM your mobo isnt liking, but really i wouldn't know

Everything is connected as it should be. I have disabled the the rpm in the Bios but still the same.
It like something is shorting because my pc turn on then bfore anything appears on the screen it shuts down then repeats the process.
It must be faulty fan because my stock heatsink and fan works fine. Oor the cost of cooler it aint worth the trouble of sending back or keep trying it.
I just thought if any one had the same problems they could help.
It might also be that my motherboard just wont work with that kind of weight. :(
Cheers anyway

yeah i have thermaltake blue orb II on asus A8N-SLI premium and its a fantastic cooler, was a bit of a pain to attach requires some force to get those nuts into the thread but after that its a breeze, is the fan attached to the CPU fan header on your motherboard, if that doesn't work test it in another computer, if that don't work, send it back ;)

Edit: yeah blue orbs weigh a ton :p

My brother has fitted it to his rig and it works perfect.
He used the K8 fitment
which seems to secure the cooler better I did have problems getting it secured to my motherboard Socket 775.
Being a good brother :p I think I will let him keep it because he only had a stock heatsink+fan and I will get another.
Zalman 9500 LED maybe, they are a little lighter and the fittment looks more solid.
