I keep getting blue screens since installing my 8800gts. Im getting them mainly when I start up and go into windows and again when im shutting down windows.

I can't remeber all the error meaasages but I know some are caused by something called NvCpl.dll which after donig some resaerch I found was nvidia related. I also get another message about "not less or equal" and other one about memory dumps. I think thats it?

I thought it was dodgy drivers, I got some Guru3D instead of the nvidia release and im still getting the same problems its very annoying.

Sorry if its confusing I was wondering if any of you could help.

I still randomly get a blue screen with that error message when signing into windows (not too often though). I never done a fresh install when I put in my 8800gtx and the previous set of drivers caused me similar problems to what you are experiencing now.

I am just hoping some new drivers are released to fix it the problems of the blue screens on the 8800 cards.

I advise you to try running your card at stock for now, uninstall all overclocking software, uninstall drivers, driver cleaner then reinstall the latest drivers.

Thanks :)

I have tried doing that but will do again im just a little reluctant about a new install as I hate having to install all your programmes again and then you always manage to forget something!

Have you also tried updating your motherboard chipset drivers as well? Might also be worthwhile looking at what options there are in the BIOS and adjusting them.

Failing that as suggested try a reinstall and if all else fails RMA the thing as its clearly either faulty or not fit for purpose.

I got two EVGA GTS cards from OC, one worked flawlessly and the other would just barely run XP on desktop mode, I guess having two was the clicnher as I Could stress test one card while the other was having none of it. I had to RMA my card back to OC who dealing with at present. I suppose its easier if you have a back up card to run your system though.

PS I was getting exact same sort of symptoms as yourself, so I hate to say but I dont think its the drivers, I hope I am wrong.

Vic

Right Ok thanks guys im updating all my drivers now, hope its not the card hmmm. Gunna stress test the ram a bit later too and see if that is causing any porblems.

Now reinstalled drivers it blue screened uninstalling the Nforce 4 ones but since I used driver cleaner and reinstalled evertything including the x-fi ones all has been good. Just ran 3Dmark05 and got a higher score than before and the card is not even overclocked, may leave the card how it is and see if the rig is more stable now.

Glad to hear your rig is more stable now, what is your new 3dmark05?

Well before with an Oc of 680/800 I got 11163 3dmarks now with it running at 530/792 I get 13111 3dmarks.

In 06 it is slightly lower thanthe card with an extreem OC to 2ghz only a difference of 500. It seems all the reinstalling has maybe made it more efficient too. Is that possible?

LOL if I recall rightly the score of 11163 @ 680/800 was with your 7900gto? You got nearly 14000 3dmarks with the gts oc'd:D

Ah thought it was a bit weird but i had no other print screens and it was with my opty lol. Silly me im being a noob still its not much below 14,000 I would rather have a stable rig than the risk of crashing so I will leave it for now. Once im sure the problems solved I may oc again.

Agreed. Oc'ing is fun :D blue screens :( I'd wait for a new driver release then try oc'ing again if you feel you need the speed :)
