Just tried to install Leopard and got to the end only to get what can only be described as a blue screen of nothing, just a cursor, nothing else. :(

Checked the permissions, and disk repaired it then repeated the install and got the same again.

In the end decided to to do a clean and archive install, which has worked :)

Just got to move all my documents and apps across from the previous system now.

I got that after my upgrade install. I just erased and started again - I'd backed up, thankfully :)

So much for "things just work" with Apple, looks like they will be busy over the weekend sorting out updates for it.

I bet someones gonna be getting a ticking off over this!!
I wonder how much testing they did with leopard, its not like they had to test it on a massive range of systems.

I'm sure a lot of testing was done. Upgrades are a funny bag due to the amount of difference from one machine to another. It is impossible to cater for every software application and setting.

I wonder if MS have patented the BSOD hehe. :D. Waits for MS to sue Apple. :p

Only problem I had was when I installed it on an iMac G5.

The keyboard would constantly repeat a "0" until I changed the speed in the system preferences.. I suspect a software update would fix it.

Did my MacBook pro last night and this happened again, must be a program i had installed on both maybe.

Argh well, probably for the best i reformatted the whole thing.

Runs schweet!

I think it is pretty much confirmed this is to do with Application Enhancer as I did a fresh install of Leopard. Once the install finished I installed Application Enhancer, rebooted and got the dreaded blue screen.

I did an archive and install (before the workaround was posted) and everything is back to normal.

Fresh install on my Mini went without a hitch.

Yeah, i had clear dock on both so it may of well have been that!

same here with APE - I just installed it again and it wouldn't boot. ran the following commands and it's working fine now:

Code:
Reboot into single-user mode (hold Command-S while booting)
Remove the following files by typing each line below:
rm -rf /Library/Preference Panes/Application\ Enhancer.prefpane
rm -rf /Library/Frameworks/Application\ Enhancer.framework
rm -rf /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Application Enhancer.bundle
rm -rf /Library/Preferences/com.unsanity.ape.plist
Exit, to continue booting normally, type:
exit

Had APE installed, did an archive and install and its working fine. just deleted the old system files. runs as sweet as a nut now. :)

I take my complaint back.. the 0 key was jammed down! LOL

Running smooth as silk on my bro's iMac G5 :)
