Hey guys, problem with my system, trying to install vista 32bit (for now) on to my new computer onto a newly formatted HDD (formatted using my other PC using admin tools in vista) and it gets to about 95% expanding files in the installation then bluescreens, with error message

driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal

can anyone tell me what on earth this means?!

Thankyou :(

There would have been a stop message before that driver_IRQL thing. Can you recall what it was?

But most of the time it just means that a stick of ram is playing up - run memtest86 and see if both your rams are in perfect working order.

If the problem persists please post the full error message.

In my experience these errors are usually down to memory problems. Check to see it the timings are set correctly and that the voltage of the memory is also at spec.
//edit, probably a bit late now - didn't see the date of the OP.

Hey guys, I will do what you said anyway thankyou but the problem has been solved, the whole system was messed up because of a PCI RAID controller card i used to have installed; i eventually formatted everything and then removed the CMOS battery overnight to start from scratch, problemo solved!

However ive got another bluescreen problem unrelated to this one, if you have a second can you CLICK HERE to have a look?

Thanks so much for your help guys
