Hey guys, I just had this blue screen error again with my newly brand new replaced 6870(my old 6870 died on artifacts sent on RMA about a month ago).

I have just watched a flash video and out of nowhere it goes green and I get the blue screen and it reboots itself. The same thing happened too numerous times with the older card. it only happens at times when playing a flash video.

Can any1 help me out to pinpoint the problem, I don't think its the new GPU since its fully working. Would it be the RAM that could be messing up?

any ideas guys?

Thanks, I just installed the whocrashed software and this is what I got:

hmmm well I am using IE9, my flash is Abobe 11 ver.11.2.202.235,
can it be the driver then?
or still RAM/RAM slot

myt try turning off hardware accelration too.

Thanks I'll try updating the drivers, my CPU is at stock 3.2ghz, its deffo the 125W version. previous GPU isnt overclocked and its also the flash video problem that froze and BSOD numerous times that killed it I believe(which is why I don't want the same happening to my newly replaced GPU(.

Does it seem to be OK now? If not....

Can I ask which 6870 you're using please?

Reason being, I sold a Powercolor HD6870 about 9 months ago to a guy from another forum, after months of him trying to stop it BSOD he finally admitted defeat and we had to RMA it. Was confirmed to me by their tech support that it was a common fault with their brand of 6870, issue sounds very similar to yours.

My old card was the VTX3D(which I think is also Powercolor) 6870 which died after 6 months because of the BSOD issues above that happened many times.

I had a new XFX 6870 as replacement- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-205-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1866

its happened once with the same issue, and Im still currently testing it with watching flash videos.

cheers

Since rolling back to the february update, I played flash videos for over an hour. Haven't BSOD at all. so everything is looking good. thx guys

I'll post again if it does occur.
