Hi

Was just playing CSGO match making and my game crashed thought no big deal was unresponsive so i ctrl+alt+deleted it and got my first BSOD

It reset and i rejoined my game and it seems to be running fine done seem to have any issues at all.

Im new to pcs and this was the first one i have built so i am freaking out its only just over a year old and has £1000 worth of kit init.

I have just got bluescreenview software and its come back with the following regarding the crash

bug check code
0x00000116
caused by driver
dxgkrnl.sys

i54679k not overclocked with dual 120mm rajtek cooler on it
MSI 280x
256gbssd
1tb hd
8gb ram
600w psu

Can any one shed any light ? examples i have Google searched so far have clear explanations as to why this has happened how ever the information above means nothing to me and i have no idea what it means

as far as i know my gpu driver is up to date ? there hasnt been anything released for a while has there from AMD ?

and no but when i went back in game i checked mid game and my gpu was at 60 something and cpu wasn't over 50

There is a beta driver that come out last month. I'm using 14.12 drivers without any blue screens though. There is optional chipset drivers (not to be confused with mobo chipset drivers) for your card itself that you can try.

Did you install your drivers yourself from the AMD website or did Windows install them for you?

I'm not sure :(

Also I haven't really updated any other drivers for anything else... Could this be an issue ?

Iv just read that the code I have for my blue screen can some times just happen at random and may. It have any under lying issue could this be correct ?

does it only do it in that game? tried setting the power control to 25% in catalyst control centre/amd overdrive?

that might help

Things I would try first:

Uninstall the current driver using control panel, restart and download and install the driver.

Go to Device Manager and see if there are any drivers missing (should be under other devices)

Update BIOS driver.

Is the card new? Have you only been getting blue screens since installing it?

The card is the msi 280x I got last May

Yeah saw that bit just seems weird how its taken almost a year for a BSOD to appear. Usually they appear right away such as installing new ram or a new card.

Get rid of all the current drivers that exist and re-install them from the AMD website to start.

That's why I'm hoping it's the computer having a wobble and it doesn't really mean anything lol
