My PC has been running perfectly for a couple of years. It has had a 9% CPU overclock, which was just a selection in BIOS, the whole time.
On Monday night while my wife was watching some rubbish on TV I thought I would update my GPU drivers and have a look at the overclock profile trying to understand what the options meant.
In the end I overclocked the CPU from the 3.31ghz to 3.4. Ran several stress tests for a while and all was okay. I didnt try any games though.

This morning I have turned the PC on, and If I try and run more than one application it bluescreens. So I removed the OC and put it back to stock. It still blue screens if I try to run a game.

Could the crashes be GPU related? When the PC starts again, windows says it has recovered from an error and links me to a file I cannot open a .dmp file.

try reset the BIOS default and see if the BSOD fixed.
If not, press F8 key when PC boots and select the Last Known Good Configurations from the boot menu.

Hpoe this helps!

have tried to reset and still BSOD.

Everything is stock and works fine when testing, but as soon as anything is loaded screen goes checkered for 1/2 a sec and then BSOD.
