Blue screen on Over clocking issue

Hi lads, thanks for taking time to read this. First, the set up

CPU: I5 2500K @ 3.30Ghz
MotherBoard: Asus Z68 V pro-gen 3
GPU: MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III
Ram: 8G Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz
PSU: Antec Pro 850
CPU Cooler: Antec Kuhlor H2O 920
HDD: WD 1TB black
SSD: Corsair Force 3 120GB
with Asus DG Xonar PCI 5.1 Audio Card
OS: Win 7 64 bits

First rig mainly for gaming, OC'ed to 4.5Ghz atm, however when pushing up the multiplier to 46, it seems the system won't pass Intel Burn no matter what the CPU voltage i give within the reasonable safe limit. Ran Temtest 86 with ram and no errors, temprature for 4.5ghz is at 52ish under load and 24ish idle. I did not check the dump file when the system blue screen at 4.6 but one thing i noticed is that when I was playing MW3, sometimes during game, the sytem crashes, once even got stuck at the loading screen and had to reboot. Any experts can give any tips that can help me to improve the system stability will be much appreciated.

What do you call a reasonable safe limit? You could go as high as 1.425v providing your temps are under controll under load.

Try setting phase and duty to extreme, LLC to u high and CPU compatibility to 120% and see how you get on, breaking past 4.5/4.6 can sometimes be tricky.

well i went up to 1.385 roughly, but I suppose to get to 4.6, isnt this voltage a bit extreme? Maybe in theory it is plausible but does it really worth it for that extra .1ghz? not to mention the system keeps failing the stability test.

Try my above suggestions, heading north of 4.5 requires a little more fine tuning then just upping the multi and vcore.

Remember not all chips are the same, you maybe just have a below average chip.
