hi every one sorry to bother you but i really dont no what to do
i went out this morning and lcoked my pc when i get home at about 10
i unlock it and it will wirk for about 5 minits then it blue screened. so i just thought oh maybe its because i left my pc on all day.
so the pc restarts and loads up vista without a problem works for 5 mins then blue screens and then again and again and again
i was wondering if it may be down to my rubbish psu that i bought about 7 months ago its a 500w one without any brand :( i no i was stupid to skimp out on the most important item but money was tight.
would this be the problem or is the rabbit hole deeper.

specs
asus m2n
amd 5200+ x2
sum rubbish cheap ram 2gb
and a nvida 9500gt

i no my pc is out of date but at the moment i cant afford another one

It think it could be PSU, RAM, overheating or failing hard disk. You need to do some more investigation.

Try disconnecting all of the drives except your primary hard disk if this is more stable, it could well be the PSU.
Try booting with just one stick of RAM, then try the other on it's own. If one of these configurations is stable and the other not, it's a bad stick. (If both still fail, try the same in a different slot.)
When was the last time you cleaned the dust bunnies out?
Do all the fans still run?

Why do people ignore the blue screen? In most cases it can actually help you with the problem you are experiencing.

What error are you getting.. Post full BSOD details :)

What do the error messages on the blue screens say? We can't magically diagnose a problem from just a list of what you have in there.

As has been suggested, if you are worried it is a ddodgy PSU or overheating, go into the BIOS settings on startup and see what the temperatures and voltages are like. This can usually be be found in the "PC Health Status" option. Whilst you're in there, check your memory is running at the correct timings and voltages.

As with most problems, its just a case of systematically working through and eliminating possible causes until you find what the cause is.

PK!

how do i get what the error said ? and the dust couldent be a problem because inside the case is emaculet. i tryed the one hard disk thing and that never worked. and i am just going to get some new ram when i get the cash so has anyone any sugestions on what ram (prefrably 4gb) to get and maybe a new psu aswell when my bday comes up.

When you turn on the computer and get one of these blue screens, before turning it off and swearing loudly, make a note on a bit of paper of what message is on the screen. This will help us work out what is wrong and could save you from buying new bits when you dont actually need them.

If it hasn't BSOD today then this is a good opportunity to have a good look at the event manager while you have a chance. These things aren't normally a "freak of nature" as you say as there is clearly an underlaying problem that shouldn't be ignored. Take some time now to get to the bottom of what caused the error.. As I said, the event log is a good place to start.. Filter the selection down to errors and about the time you had the BSOD.

ok well i have looked in event viewer and set my serch critiria to 'error, critical and warning' and it seems to me that around the time of the first blue screen it comes up with this as the details of the error.
