Does anyone know what the main causes of a blue screen are? My cousin says thats all his getting when he turns the pc on.

Sorry mate, but there are a huge number of causes for a BSOD 
A BSOD on startup is more likely to be caused by a driver, as less stress is going to be put on the memory, but to tell anything really we need the stop code.
