Couldn't decide whether to stick this in hardware or here. Figured here as I can't prove the cause is hardware related.

Basically I'm getting the good old BSOD on a fairly regular basis - once a day say.

Windows 7 OS, fully updated. Haven't been able to point it to a single bit of hardware or software that I may have updated to bring it about.

Was hoping someone far more knowledgeable than me can help me trace the cause so I can fix it.

Here is all the info I could attain from the last event viewer log:

param1 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff800032d75ef, 0xfffff880031df898, 0xfffff880031df0f0)
param2 C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP
param3 041814-33774-01

The above which means diddly squat to me. Also can't find a way to read the .dmp files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here you go - some info for you

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.
This error (7E) is usually a driver issue and display adapter (video) driver is the most suspect though
it could be others. Antivirus/antispyware/security programs, hardware (heat) and major software
issues can also cause the error. When you get to the driver section of the troubleshooter use my
generic methods in the next message and then return to the troubleshooter if needed.
Have you added hardware recently or updated drivers? Be sure to look in Control Panel - Windows
Updates to see if any drivers were updated there. Other lessor possibilities include antivirus/anti-
spyware/security programs.
When you get to the driver and memory sections of the troubleshooter refer to the next message to
update drivers and test memory and then refer back to the troubleshooter if needed.

Download a program called who crashed - google it. This will give you more information as to which driver was at fault. This error is usually a driver issue.
Who crashed will read the memory dump file, and give you the info you need to fix the issue hopefully.

Mark,

Program is perfect, thanks. Most of the crash causes can't be identified but a couple point to the software for my network adapter. Something I've thought for a while to be misbehaving.

Time for a new one methinks as there are no later drivers since 2007
