Blue Suits

So I was walking through the City at lunch today and it suddenly dawned on me, literally everyone (male) is wearing blue suits. And then I noticed it back at work, and now I can't stop noticing it. There's just blue suits everywhere!

Was there some 'Business Man' convention that I missed the memo for where this was agreed, or have all men just collectively decided blue is now the thing?

I feel outdated with my grey and black suit collection

Yes blue does indeed seem to be the colour of the moment. I do like a nice well fitting navy suit. Sadly I'm stuck with grey as my old navy suit no longer fits but I will be getting another soon.

I've also seen a big uptick in the number of people wearing separate jackets and trousers as the work environment becomes a little less formal.

Yeah, lots of blue suits but not many ties. Personally I avoid wearing a suit as much as possible, and have only worn a tie for the odd day here and there over the last few years.

You do get some odd juxtapositions, when a guy in a full three piece suit with tie pin and the full works, sits next to a guy in open collar and sleeves rolled up.

Having spent the morning looking again, I've concluded that blue suits look a bit crap if your a larger chap. Which explains why I've not got any and never have.

Nope, normal navy blue.

I'm not saying "omg look at everyone wearing stupid suits!" I'm saying that I've only just noticed that almost everyone now wears a dark blue/navy suit. Its probably been like that for ages, but I only just noticed it the other day when I was walking down a street and infront of me was a sea of blue suits, as far as the eye could see.
