Im thinking of buying a Blue Yeti microphone.

My only concern is will it pick up my TV/Game Audio or is it quite good at muting background volume? My TV/Microphone will be about 6ft away from each other

Having owned one of these, you can adjust the gain on the mic and once set into cardioid mode it should only half the 'half' of the mic facing you pick up audio.

That said, if you have the TV loud you might have to adjust settings to get it just right but as a general rule try and have it closer to your face/mouth than the Tv and you should be fine after some adjustment/testing.

It's an excellent quality mic, ideally needs to be mounted on a stand as mine picked up vibration from mouse clicks/mech keyboard easily when on the desk.
