i've bought a pc with the following configuration:

intel c2d e6850 2x 3 ghz
4x 1 gb ocz ram ddr2 800
asus p5n-e sli mainboard
xfx geforce 8800 gts xt edition
psu sharkoon SHA450-8P with 450 watt
windows xp
2 sata harddrives
1 dvd rom
1 dvd-rw

the psu has the following specifications:

+3,3V 22 A
+5Vsb 2,5 A
+5V 15 A
+12V1 18 A
+12V2 18 A
-12V 0,3 A

after 1-2 hours of playing a game i get a bluescreen with an error of the nv4_disp.dll or the nvdisp.dll or something like that. i'm wondering whats wrong with my computer since the latest drivers are already installed.

Have you checked to see if all the components are getting enough power you can do this in the bios, I had a problem like this before and it turned out that the PSU wasnt supplying enough juice.

I would un-installed the video drivers then go into safe mode and use Driver cleaner
Do a search for it here and you wil find the link for it.

Then install the drivers.

I don't think you have enough on the 12v for a GTX. You need 26A.

EDIT:

BFG website:
"A 475W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 32A or more *Minimum system power requirement based on a standard PC configured with an Intel® Core™2 Extreme X6800 processor 30A"

its not a gtx, its a overclocked gts

+12V1 18 A
+12V2 18 A

thats confusing me. 18*2 = 36 -> 36 is more than 24 so why would i need more ?

You don't add the two rails together like that, there's a method of combing them to get the total ampage but it isn't as simple as 2* etc. I'm having trouble remembering what it is though.
