When it bluescreened about 5 minutes ago all I did was move my cursor to my browser and scrolled up and it just bluescreened and rebooted but it wouldn;t get past the motherboard title screen until I manually rebooted using the reset switch a couple of times. Once back into windows it tells me it has just "Recovered from a serioud error" but tells me nothing about it!

Any help would be appreciated!

Regards,
Neil

I would troll through the System Event Logs

Right Click "My Computer" > Manage > Event Viewer > System

Look through there to see if there are any errors, it's more than likely a driver causing an issue somewhere along the line.

atikmdag - that's your ati driver crashing. and i notice you have multiple monitors listed in your spec. i (and a few others on these forums) have this problem only when multiple monitors are enabled. with just the one monitor, i don't have any problems at all. sorry i don't know of any fix. :(

are you running the ram at 2.2volts?

(ocz is usually supposed to be run at that speed, the default for most ram slots is 1.8)

look into it first, but it might be worth upping ram volts in bios by 0.4

worked for me :)

ah, I'll look into that, How do I check what it is running at currently with my board?

EDIT: On this page:

http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_6400_reaper_cl4_4gb_edition

It says that my ram kit should be run at 2.1 volts. I do not know what it is running at now but if it's not at 2.1 already shoudl I set it to 2.1 or 2.2? and is there a way to check what voltage it is running at via windows or not?

EDIT 2: I have just checked what CPU-Z is saying and that states the ram is at 1.8 so I'll head into the BIOS and see if I can find a way to up it to 2.1. Any pics of asus bios screens for where I will find the option to modify that setting, anyone?

Regards,
Neil

things like coretemp., cpu-z, and everest might tell you can't remember

(everest is the more likely to say, but it also HAS to be installed)

bios should tell you in the health check part (ie, the temps section)

set it to 2.1 if it's supposed to be at that

wouldn't harm to install the new ati catalyst drivers either :) 8.6

also, be warned, those psu's have a tendancy to blow.. (i have two in non-critical pc's, been fine for 2 years+)
