Bluesoleil update bugging me

I have a BlueSoleil bluetooth dongle and I'm running the latest version of the software, 2.3.0.0, but everytime I turn my PC on and Windows loads up there is a little popup window telling me that the latest version is 3.2.2.8 but this is the VOIP version not the standard version I use which is still 2.3.0.0.

So is there any way to stop the popup message telling me about the upgrade? OK yes theoretically its right in that there is an upgrade available but its wrong in that it isn't the correct version for me.

these are the worst bluetooth adaptors on the planet, so much crap comes with them

my mum got on from the bay, its in the bin now

do yourself a favour and get an msi one, all it needs is a driver -about 50kb, no crappy software

lol once again i have never seen a thread about these, then as soon as i go to make one there one is, always happens with ocuk.

sorry to thread hijack but I too got a bluetooth bluesoleil and am having problems with it. I installed some software for it, paired pc with n95, then used it for salling clicker on n95. Worked fine at first but after the first restart it stopped working and hasn't worked since. It click on find devices, it find my mobile all hpoen, but then when trying to connect it doesn't do anything andjust says "service desovery failed"

aynone know why?

also try adding a device using some windows bluetooth thing and it can't even find it from there?

Am i going to have to get anohter bt dongle? is there any other software that can be used with the dongle instead of the rubbish that come with it?

Woot. And so uses the XP bluetooth features to do what Bluesoleil is doing?

Sounds cool. Will look up the MSI ones now. Thanks.

*Edit - just looked in the options and found a "Check for updates" feature and have disabled that. Still looking to replace the dongle though.

I get that sometimes with the Bluesoleil hence my increasing fury with it. Have you disabled any services in the services menu? That might be it. I think I just kept perservering until the ruddy thing behaved as it should. Have you reinstalled the software?

It might be worth you returning the dongle if you are still within the time limit and getting an MSI dongle.

yeah i have tried reinstalling twice and not worked. No serives disabled afaik.

I am still within the time limit but it was bought on flebay and i left good feedback already, would istill be abel to return saying it worked at first but not now? might just sell this and go with msi as msi only £7.50ish in total

Hmm dunno about that. Hardly go on there so little knowledge of what you can do there.

I'm trying to remember how on earth I fixed this. And I can't for the life of me remember.

If you go to "My Services" then "Properties", are all of the services set to start when Bluetooth starts?

just checked an all but 2 services where auto start, which were audio headset and lan access but they now started.

Nothing seems to have changed

After i search for devices and it finds my phone what should ido? I used to double click on my hpone but that doesn't seem to work. Or is it once the phone is found im done and can now use the device? well supposably

Once its found, you need to pair them up. Normally that involves choosing a password or passkey on the PC then the phone prompts you for that same password/key which you have to enter in order to pair the PC and the phone.
