Bluetooth 1.1 Range

Hi,

Does anybody know what the range of bluetooth version 1.1 is?

I have recently obtained a Palm PDA which has bluetooth. I was considering purchasing a WiFi card for it but realise that I am unlikely to use it only when at home or at University accommodation. In both cases I have PC's near by which I can plug a bluetooth dongle into and will only cost £5 for a dongle compared to £60ish for the WiFi card (Plus the WiFi card has to stick out of the top where as bluetooth is built in). All of this, however, is pointless if the bluetooth 1.1 range is too short.

I look forward to your response.

Many Thanks

Dan.

Is there any way to find out the class of the PDA? It is a Palm Zire 72. I can obviously buy a dongle of any class but it will be restricted to that of the PDA - Any way of finding out?

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. Have been reading around and bluetooth seems more ideal for what I want than WiFi and a £6 adaptor (That I can use for more than just the PDA) seems a much better solution than an expensive WiFi card. Use it to connection share between any PC/Laptop when I'm at home and always use phone to access internet when out and about (Not like I plan to do full web browsing on PDA).

Many thanks for the help in this thread.

Cheers.

Dan.
