I've just purchased a Bose Soundlink Colour speaker for my tablet... but could I use it with my desktop PC via Bluetooth?

I don't currently have a Bluetooth dongle for my PC, but if I got one, would it connect with the speaker as seamlessly as my tablet does?

If so, do I need a specific dongle - are their different 'standards' as is with HDMI?

Thanks all :)

One that is specified to work with audio would be a safer bet. Some cheaper ones don't support audio profile AFAIK. I think someone posted a thread not long back where he couldn't get a Bluetooth headphone to work, despite it pairing OK. I think he had one of the really cheap dongles.

Ooo, OK - didn't know there were audio specific ones. Was looking at an Asus BT400 adaptor. It's Bluetooth 4.0 compatible. Do you know if this would likely work?

Asus one should be fine. Supports A2DP according to Asus website, which is what you need to stream audio via Bluetooth.

It's the really cheap ones for £1.50 or so that tend not to support advanced audio. Many of them are unbranded and have no list of what profiles they support. Probably fine for data transfer, etc.
