Bluetooth didn't install correctly?

I got my bluetooth software on and the headset establishes a connection with the computer but when I try to use it for voice recognition it only sees the built in microphone jack and in device manager it doesn't show bluetooth network adapter, bluetooth audio adapter, print driver etc....

Should I try installing it again? Or have I set something up wrong?

what program are you using to run the bluetooth? if you get me?

Erm, I used the belkin XP drivers for my bluetooth dongle (f8t012uk). When I added the dongle before any drivers were installed and tld windows where the drivers where, it took whatever files it needed and it was controlling the bluetooth transactions, but it didnt recognise my headset as an actual mic. And with the belkin drivers it appears to have not installed each individual driver e.g. bluetooth audio bluetooth network bluetooth printer etc...

I'd try getting the Widcomm stack, I think the latest version is 5.1.0.2700.

Edit : There's 6.0.1.3900 posted on the AnyCom forums.

Will my dongle work with that driver? I simply find a download and use it for my bluetooth software?

I installed those drivers, rebooted and got my headset to pair. It recognises it as a mic, however when I tried to connect to use it, it tells me no bluetooth dongle was detected. I took the dongle out and put it back in and now it doesnt recognise it and it cant find drivers for it and I told it to look in C:\blutooth (Where i put the files) and it didn't work

What the hell is going on

I just tried the 2700 drivers and it said the bluetooth dongle couldnt search for devices then said the license was invalid........

while the other drivers wouldnt connect to a headset it did install and could pair with them, how do I get around this license issue????

my bluetooth dongle is the f8t012uk.

Actually if someone could tell me a donlge that would DEFINITELY work with vista and these drivers I would just buy it to stop all the fuss!

The patcher on the link will stop the licensing problem that you had with 2700.

I'm half way through the guide described in this link and I already uninstalled those drivers, so I assume I should just go ahead with this?

Um, some dll file has went missing or got corrupt so the tray icon wont dispay and it says the program wasnt responding etc.... and if i try clicking on my bluetooth places it says it cant find the dongle but I assume it is because this file is missing.

If I did a system restore would it work? Or Should I just try reinstalling everything including windows and hopefully get rid of some of the annoying messages lke the ones it does for my keyboard

Actually, It is "btwhidcs.DLL" that is the name of the file.

I went to the start menu and then the startup folder and bluetooth is the only option there, tried to start it up and it says BTTray.exe- Unable to locate component.... This application has failed to start because btwhidcs.DLL was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem.

Thanks.

*Sigh*, it still says dongle not found, the tray icon stays red. So did I do something wrong? Could I uninstall these drivers use the 2700 drivers and somehow use this patcher to get it working with tht driver?

So much fusss just to get bluetooth going! :(

Never had a problem here lol :p. Ok yeh, that patcher will work with the 2007 stack. Are you sure you're patching it properly? (you're modifying the infs as well right?).

The guide said to check the inf file that came with the drivers t osee if my dongle was listed in there and it was (the hardware id anyway), so i installed the drivers, booted into safe mode opened up the patcher selected the dongle and pressed ok or save or whatever, it said ok, i restarted and the tray icon is as if the dongle isnt in, which it is.

Have I missed a step?

EDIT: I just noticed in uninstall programs that there are two widcomm drivers/programs to select to remove, not just one....... have I not removed one set of drivers correctly and buggered things up?

nope im runnin 32 bit.

I just put the 2700 drivers back on but when I tried the patch program my dongle wasnt available as something to be patched.

I booted back into windows, the tray icon shows it is recognised but when I try to add any device it says the device could not start searching.

My best hope is to get that driver with the patch working somehow.

Unless someone can tell me a dongle that definitely works with a set of drivers that definitely works on vista and I will just buy a new dongle.
