since i installed XP pro with SP2 on my pc, i cannot for the live of me get my belkin USB bluetooth dongle to work.

i looked up on the MS site and the belkin one for help, and followed what they suggested but it still wasnt playing ball. so i uninstalled the belkin bluetooth from the add/remove programs, and now im trying to uninstall the other drivers that SP2 installed.

but when i look in the device manager, i cannot find any bluetooth devices in there.

when i plug the dongle in nothing happens, so windows still thinks its installed

anyone got any ideas on how i can fully remove anything bluetooth related, and re-install the dongle, and have it work on SP2?

thanks

just overinstall the official drivers? Just had near same with with my sisters bt dongle here, installed cd software and its fine now

i tried putting the dongle in another usb port, round the back of my pc (had been using some additional ones on the front, connected by a wire to the mobo) and its now working!!

next thing is to try and use my belkin drivers/software as for some reason, my pc can find my phone, but my phone cant find my pc

oooh I mis interp'ed your post. Looks like front usb is faulty then? :)

Youll need to install drivers then remove and replace the dongle for phone to find it *had to in 4 instances with mine now after an install* Possibly (: ?

Windows own bluetooth drivers are awfull... you should try the Widcomm drivers (along with the unlock patch so they work with any bluetooth device) they're only about 1000 times better :D

Latest 5.0.1.1200 drivers

and the patch...

Extract the drivers to a folder of your choice then extract the patch to the folder called svcpack and then run the installation.

Make sure you uninstall all other bluetooth software first and remove the dongle when you reboot.
