Bluetooth

Is Bluetooth a function of the motherboard or Windows 10? I've started wearing a pair of expensive hearing aids, they cost me £3K, and I can now hear a lot of the high frequencies I’ve lost.

I'm looking at an Asus ROG Strix gaming MB with Bluetooth. So, does the MB have to have Bluetooth, or will Win 10 provide?

You need to have hardware that supports Bluetooth. Doesn't have to on the motherboard itself. For example you can get a USB adapter, e.g. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tp-link-ub400-bluetooth-4.0-nano-usb-adaptor-nw-21r-tp.html (just picked that one at random, not necessarily an endorsement).

Once you have hardware that provides the Bluetooth radio, then Windows 10 will hopefully detect it and set it up as a sound device.

I see, so a MB with BT wouldn't need an adapter. Just pair the aids to the built-in BT.
