Blueyonder/Telewest speed upgrades

Seems it was a mistake by BY technical support to forward me to NTHELL.

Either way, got thru to sales. They have now setup 4 mbit on my account. They are adament that I will be charged £50 for a month before 10 mbit arrives, but we shall see about that when it comes. So the wait continues for increased speed.

He would not budge on the End of Nov date for Solihull, so only time will tell when 10 mbit arrives in this area.

Have you tried reseting you modem? It says on the maintainance page that Solihull was completed last night. Might not get switched on yet but its all there and ready to roll

The work is for the 6th October and not the 4th.

:(

Well at least i'm getting my UBR upgrades, unlike those unfortunate people in Gillingham.

Yep got my 4 mbit a second ago too.

As i said, Solihull network has been upgraded but not seen any UBRs in Solihull being updated. So only time will tell when we get 10 mbit!

The 'Network' upgrades are actually done first, then the UBR's follow. After both have been done then they allow your modem to download the new config file from the server. None of the little green boxes have to be modified at all unless some one has vandalised it. :)

You must bear in mind that it can be between 12 -36 hours before they allow the new configs on your modem from when the UBR's are finished.

The UBR's in gillingham are complete, we are all waiting for the Network Upgrade, but due to technical itches, the gills section cant or wont handle the load, fingers crossed, i dont want to wait too much longer, its doin my head in now rebooting the bloody modem.

Its actually worse than waiting for 25th December!

Lol

Where in Gillingham are you based?

I'm up Darland :D

We're always the last to get things :(

It sucks :(

The Gills UBR's go from 1 thru 8, i am in ME8 Rainham, and we had not loss of internet, so power loss must have been confined to telewest only, but my newsgroups didnt miss a beat, so i enquired, and source says Cant handle it, so they better pull there finger out, or i am changing to a cheaper and has fast internet service provider.

Yeah im in ME5 walderslade (right next to chatham), irritating that its been postponed but guess it cant be helped. Just keep in mind that it will get here eventually!

Hi people. My speeds here in croydon are getting worse. They are down too under 2mb do you think the problem is that im using a wireless netgear 624 router.Ive been looking around the net and some bloke said he changed the WAN setting from 10m too 100m and is now getting full speed.I dont suppose anyone knows how too do this.I'm new too this wireless stuff.
Thanks.
