Blueyonder/Telewest speed upgrades

I'm Definetly looking forward to it, any increase is a good thing IMO.
Whether the upload is carp or not, its gunna be £15 less a month for me AND with faster downloading.
what exactly have i got to complain about?

you will get 10mb dwn regardless of upload speed. its ONLY in bittorrent that your down speed will be affected by your up speed but on a good tracker this is a non issue, I hit my full 2MB down speed with only a 5k/s up speed all the time on good trackers.

NTL 10MB still seems better as it has 1MB up but NTL have a "pay extra if you download more than the cap" rule, maybe they will change after seeing telewest gain some new customers :p

I phoned TW recently and knocked down the price of my 1MB connection from £25 to £17.99 and now I'll also get a free speed boost. That's almost good value for money :)

Doubt it as they (due to areas) are not in direct competition with TW

I work for telewest, we had an e-mail about this yesterday. I am just trying to find out what areas we are going to roll out first. With a bit of luck the Yorkshire region will be first :-D. Word is that the upgrade will be finished by 2006.

Will have to wait and see but projects like this do fall behind schedule from time to time. Any dates mentioned I would take with a pinch of salt.

Im actually still with BY and am getting my 8 meg adsl line turned on on the 23rd, i was waiting to see if BY upgraded and they have, but the lack of upload speed has made me decide to can it. the 8 meg line features over 60kb/s upload, all helps you know.
I'm confused. Which 8mb provider are you going with?

From what I can tell, UKOnline and Bulldog both offer 400kbps upstream on their 8mb services, which is only 50KB/s, not 60 and only 4% faster than the 384kbps offered on the BY 10mb service

Bulldog, and every single person i know on it gets over 60k's upload.

Thats not the only reason im going with them, in competition with NTL and TW the isps liek BD ukonline and freedom to surf will more than likely roll out adsl2 at 24 megs and that will possibly have a 3 meg upload. so im just giving myself a bit of future proofing :)
