pressing the auto button fixes it but its a PITA if i will have to do it all the time, monitor isnt even 1.5 years old

im running at 1440x900 59/60hz (either or and its still the same)

VGA input from a 7900GTO

I have this problem with my VGA connected Viewsonic 35m. When I jiggle the VGA connection in the back of the monitor it can clear up drastically. Maybe it's a problem with VGA in particuar?

Havnt tried jiggleing the VGA cable, doubt its that as the cable is very rarely touched as i know they can become faulty resulting in red, green, blue 'filters' on the screen.

at first i thought it may have been the overclock (using RivaTuner 2) on my GPU so i took it off and its now back at stock but made no difference. it only seems to happen when im in windows, when im in the BIOS its fine, when its loading windows its fine, as soon as it hits the windows logon screen its blurry/ghosting.

pressing the auto button helps but not all the time, it seems fine now.

my acer is an arse for that. my old one never used to do it, but with this new one (insurance replacement) i have to press the auto button every time i switch it on, every time it changes resolution.......pain in the rectum.

mine has only started doing it recently, ill give it a few more days if it doesnt clear up then ill see if OcUK can get it RMA'd or something or how does it work? i *think* it just over a year, maybe more. Anyone got any idea how long Acer warrenty is?

I have the same screen and while I don't have the obvious ghosting you get, the screen is not 'in focus' - it's a real pain and I always end up squinting. Hugely unimpressed - might have to RMA it as well - only about 6 months old!

i was using the computer for ages and never noticed it at the start, i was squinting and rubbing my eyes and was tired so i blamed it on that, then i realised it was the monitor was playing up, now i cant even use the thing without having to reset it to auto each time ffs.

quick update, got home lastnight and turned the computer on, everything was fine, not blurry or ghosting. im just wondering whether or not i should RMA it now or wait a bit longer to see if the problem comes back but im affraid if i wait longer it will be out of warrenty.

any advice?

Dude I know this is very off topic but what theme are you using there? It looks really nice. Im using the exact same monitor as you.
