Wondering whether there are any RC plane flyers here ... how long (hours ?) did it take you to achieve the British Model Flying Association's "A" certificate ?

Currently I've just ordered a simulator (Aerofly Professional Deluxe) to see whether I have the necessary natural ability before attempting to bother a local club for training. :)

My Dad flies both planes and heli's, took him about 4 months to pass when he originally started out flying planes. Now he's been flying heli's since this past Christmas and he's going in for his test soon I think (and heli's are apparently a lot harder to fly than planes). He does use a flight simulator on the PC for practise though with the heli's, he got taught how to fly planes at a local club.

My A certificate took 10 mins to actually do when i took it, I think it was about 5 months of flying when I took it when I was 15, it's only a simple hover in front of your self and to the left and right if I can remember, then a so called lazy figure of 8, and some stupid questions, it's easy to do, I done mine with a helicopter :)

I don't know what you have to do with a plane but I'm sure it's just as easy. Good luck.
