BMW 320d SE...too cheap?

Ok here we go.

He is actually leaving the country and wants shot this week.

He owes money on his credit card and wants shot this week.

His crack dealer is going to bash him unless he gets paid this week.

He feels lucky and wants a turn at the casino this week.

Forget book money, its not worth book money, no one is going to pay him book money, its worth what its advertised for.

Yes, but which one is it?

I don't want to buy a crack users car. What if there's a "wrap" or something lost in the back seat and my daughter finds/eats it?

Best you invest in a valet before you give it to your daughter then.

What if the valet finds it and reports me to the police? Or if the valet takes the crack and then steals the car and drives it into a ditch/tree/playground.

Facetiousness aside, it's too cheap and I'd simply like to know why - it's not that hard a question, unfortunately it's one you can't answer.

Err it's a question already answered in this thread, somebody looked the car up on the BMW systems.

Jeez, calm down! It's cheap because it's clocked!

Yes, I know.

Christ this is harder work than usual;

No its someone who probably dosent even know its clocked selling a clocked car.

The question is; why is it so cheap, if the seller doesn't realise it's clocked?

If the seller doesn't realise it's clocked, what else is wrong with it that would cause them to reduce the price by so much?

Chances are he does realise it's clocked and wants just a quick buck;

Mark's right however. You buy it cheaply (cheaper than he's advertising), restore the mileage and sell it on for a profit.

Mate, if you have that much bad luck buying cars, get the bus :)

Thinking about it you could buy it change the mileage back and recover the service history from BMW.

I reckon you could then retail it for around 11k

Why bother? You might as well just go and buy an honest one at auction for £9k (Which is about trade book for the same car with 100k on it) and then retail THAT for 11k.

This car is pointless, leave it alone.

Adjusting for options, current Glass's retail on that 325i is about £14500-£15000 (It doesnt tell you how much less for no leather and I cba to do the mileage adjustment so its based on 39k miles).

So yes, it's quite considerably under price - and that price I've given reflects the fact it doesn't have decent wheels or navigation.

Base spec E92 325i have always been cheap. That's at around trade price. They are really hard to shift without leather. But if you aren't bothered about that they are great cars.

Even the engine is relatively economical. Although they are very tappety at idle.

The E92 is one of the most ridiculously options sensitive cars around. If you have an M Sport with 18's and no navigation, it is worth £3000 less than one with both of these options :eek:

Be mad to pay £3000 for navigation? :confused:

So really I should add the BMW 3 coupe to my list of cars to replace my ST?

I thought that they would be a little over budget, but the 325i is more economical than the equivalent Ford/VW.

I would rather the M sport, what kind of prices are we looking at? 3 years old or less and under 40k miles

Its a bit silly to be honest. Also once you have seen/used the updated harddrive Nav system the pre 2008 idrive seems lame.
