BMW 320d SE...too cheap?

Be mad to pay £3000 for navigation?

Similar deal with the e46 M3 iirc, they command quite a premium with Nav as opposed to ones without.

For that reason, I'd look for one without!

As for the car in the OP, perhaps the owner knows its clocked, perhaps he does not and has tried to sell at a higher price - with no takers?

I had a similar situation selling my old e38, not clocked, full history etc etc I advertised it at what I thought was its book price and had no calls bar the odd **** take, I dropped the price by £1k and it sold the next day.

I wanted a quick sale, the trick to a quick sale is a realistic price I suppose.

Its a bit silly to be honest. Also once you have seen/used the updated harddrive Nav system the pre 2008 idrive seems lame.

Err not really it doesn't, no. The HDD based I-Drive is fantastic but it doesnt make the previous version seem 'lame'.

Which bit of what I said did you not understand? It's nothing like the situation with the E46 - the E92 Navigation system completely changes the operation of the car and the interior even looks different with it fitted.

Why do you try and relate everything in the world to an E38 you had years ago? Selling a 3 year old 320d with 30k miles on it for £4000 less than trade money is nothing like selling an old E38 for £1k less than book. Just read the thread, somebody has already explained that the mileage on this car has an issue.

Well I think it does. The speed of operation, The Graphics and the lack of features all seem lame in the same way as If you go back and play the majority of PSone games now.

It was that big a jump forward that as long as a car had Bluetooth I wouldn't miss the old idrive too much.

No I am well aware of the different types of iDrive as I sold BMW's for the last few years.

I just think the never harddisk version was a massive step forward.

The hard disc version is excellent - excellent enough that I wouldnt hesitate to take an HDD based 58 plate 330i over a non HDD based 08 plate 335i - but the fundamentals are the same. Both have the same effect on the interior, both allow similar levels of control over the vehicles functions and features, both are pretty much a complete 'must have' when buying a BMW these days. I wouldnt touch a modern BMW without iDrive - it just completes the whole thing.
