BMW 525d E60 - MOT Failure

Just returned from the MOT test centre. My BMW E60 failed the MOT, as the rear tyres were below minimum.

My 2006 plate car is currently on run flats. Several people have suggested changing to normal tyres.

My question is, would I be able to have the front 2 tyres as run flats and the rear tyres as normal. What normal tyres would you recommend. I was thinking of Eagle F1 and not spending more than £200.00 per corner.

Didn't you take your mum's Z4 for an MOT and it failed on tyre tread depth ?

really is no excuse for you car failing mot due to tyres.

i do look at my tyres every other week. i honestly thought they were fine.

having them replaced tomorrow with Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta.

Stick a 20p coin the thread of the tyre. The border of the coin is a good estimate as to if the tyres are legal or not.

Or even better buy a £2 depth gauge from eBay and stick it in the glove box.
