BMW 97 540i - PICS (at last - 56k hmm)

Ok, I got the opportunity to take some pics today. It still has only has a jet wash and a scrub inside. I have yet to give it a good polish.

Next on the list is a set of newer "Angel eyes" with clear indicators. Then possibly sports bumper or lip spoiler.

Yup with steptronic manual.

Push the lever over when it is in D, and you can go up and down the gears your self. Allthough it will step-in and prevent any funny changes.

I also found this in the boot when I got it home...

It looks like a pro install.

And in either side of the boot I found.

Fuse & adapter thingy.

I suppose there are worse things you could find in your boot when you by a new car...

Heh heh I did check the boot, but TBH didnt see the amp. The boot is quite long. All I did was check the spare wheel space for rust etc... There was also a golf bag hiding it if I remeber correctly.

I does indeed make a lovely noise. at idle you can barely hear it, put your foot down and you get a nice noise :-)

I'll try to get some video of it soon, so you can hear and see what it is like.

They are replica M wheels from a local tyre place - was £660 all in.

I clean the leather with good old anti-bacterial soap!

It went up a grand total of £106 for me from a 316 to a 540 - 31 no points, 5 years NCB.

Essential upgrades are being ordered asap.

The Hella light angel light kit.
New M5 bumper (Any one know if I need new front arch liners for this?)
Not 100% sure I will get the M5 rear bumper just yet.

MPG is horrible! but who cares :-)

The manual says I can expect 16-18MPG around town.

I have had it since last wednesday and so far I have put in £70! I have little under half a tank left. I really must start using the steptronic manual, as all I have been doing is town driving, and it gets into 2nd maybe 3rd. I am trying my best to keep the MPG needle around 30.

As I work from home, it will get little use really. If I were driving it everyday I would have got something a little less wild.
