Anybody know the reliability of these? I've seen them described as both "indestructable" and "a weak point".

Was the 325 LSD diff better than the 316/318 version? or are they all weak, or indeed all bullet proof?

Thank ye kindly, Sir!

Have a dig around over here http://www.e30zone.net
Of my 2 one is good (believe it to be a 4.10:1) off the tourer and the other (from the spares car) whines to buggery.
Just need to find out if its open or LSD as that will change the price a tad when I sell it!!

All the LSDs are interchangeable I think.

I lnow the LSD from a 318is is housed in a smaller casing than the 6pot variety.

Seem to be fairly bulletproof but some do go wrong. Whining noises being the tell tale sign
