As my BMW used car warranty is about to expire (Can't believe I have had my car a year) I'm looking into getting a comprehensive BMW Insured Warranty. As part of this warranty you can chose if you want the BMW emergency service cover which cost about £70 putting to total cover cost up to £420. I don't mind paying this but I do already have this sort of cover from the AA (This is the level of I have currently here).

Obviously I would prefer to pay £350 instead of £420 but is there anything the BMW plan offers over this AA cover? From the very small brief on their website it doesn't look like it, but I know people on here have the BMW warranty and I was wondering what you experiences were like with this breakdown cover?

It includes instant hire car and hotel accommodations etc which standard AA does not.

Also be aware you still get recovery with BMW emergency service even if you don't pay for it but its limited to recovery to the nearest BMW dealer only and no home start.

Look at RAC as well, they are brilliant and they don't cover your car, they cover you no matter what car you're in (if that's important for you)

AA do too.

If you have any family members, see about getting a family policy. Our policy has me and my two parents all covered for about £40 each, so we split the cost. The only thing we don't have is the parts cover.

It's definitely worth it as this covers us as people, no matter the vehicle we're in. So therefore, it covers mine and my dad's motorbikes too.

I have a bmw warranty but without the BMW Emergency Service, I lost a tyre on my M1 in the BMW last year about 150 miles from home. They picked up the car, gave me a rental car and dropped of my Bmw to me the next morning.

I don't know what you get extra for the 70 pounds but the basic cover seems to be enough.

Natwest gives me free breakdown cover but I have not used that so no idea how good that is.

Either you had more than the basic cover or something went wrong in your favour. You don't get that level of cover without paying extra for emergency service.
