Long story short: BMW dealer's own body shop took 6 weeks over the summer to fix a rear impact accident. They replaced the rear hatch and rear bumper.
When I eventually picked it up, I noticed a smudge (due to a scratch) on the reversing camera screen.
I picked it up the other day noticed that the reversing guidelines weren't activated. So I turned them up and were pointing up to the sky and thought something looked off. They're pointing up to the sky!
On my 20-minute drive home last night, I had a "rear view camera failure" message appear (and disappear) 4 times.

What's more, the blocks seem to be upside down, and object take a while to register on the screen (look how close the lamp is!)

Obviously I'm taking it back to the dealer (again), but what could be causing these issues? I agreed to back anyway because the rear lower valance doesn't fit properly. I suspect they pulled it down to fit the new camera and ****** it up. Anyway, pics. WTF?? Can this be calibrated or will they have to replace the camera?

Camera aim looks to high to me. Must be not seated properly in the housing-well that’s what I would look at first.
The camera sits fine within the bumper, but the manager said they "went in from underneath" without removing it, so perhaps it is just poorly fitted.
Why is it so difficult for people to do things properly?
Six weeks to replace a rear hatch & bumper. Went back for a rattly rear hatch and scratched camera "they didn't notice", only for the replacement camera to be poorly fitted and the rear valance bent. :(

Be cause they are a main dealer and all they car about is selling you credit deals and over charging you to get a virtual stamp in a virtual book! Customer service comes a distant last especially once you own the car!

that's ** Fully Star out all swearing **, i would take it back to whoever was at it. Clearly a botched job but and 6 weeks is far too long to do that repair. I would just go straight onto the manager of the place or indeed the regional manager and stop faffing with floor staff/admin

I documented everything last night and will try to speak with the dealership manager. Have only been dealing with the body shop manager so far but I’ve had enough.
