So I've just had a test drive in a BMW i8. It was lovely. The £110K price is a bit of a shocker, of course, but I see that 2016 models are much cheaper. Only £60K. :) So clue me in!

I don't do many miles in a year - 3k - 5k.

OP hasn't specced his requirements or desires.

I want a car that has headroom and legroom - I am 6'4" - that is great and fun to drive. In the i8 I have 1-2 cm of headroom but going over bumps seemed fine. In my Skoda I have much, much more headroom, but the driving experience isn't all that.

Porka should still be OK... IMO... Porsche is more upright... so might have you in the headroom department.

I'm long in the trunk and short in the arm which makes things difficult.

McLaren is more laid back, so should cater for you... drop me a trust and I'll put you in touch with my guy for a test... if you're looking in the new car price budget.

No, I'm definitely not in that price bracket, and I'm really stretching at £60k. Indeed, as the car will be parked outside in a courtyard, insurance might well make the proposition prohibitive.

I did. :)

Anyway, does anyone know to whom Chargemaster subcontract installation of charging points hereabouts? I spoke to a lady at Chargemaster yesterday who was useless and they haven't responded to my email.

I ended up not buying one last year because of issues with recharging. But I really liked it and...

How does the i8 hold up after several years? How is it for rust & the like? I've just had a gander on Autotrader and am seeing a low mileage 2015 car for £45K
