Hi all,

I've just had the letter through for my extended warranty and i'm wondering what peoples opinions are on the options below:

My car is currently on 43000 miles so I believe i'm correct in assuming that I should pay for it annually this year then move onto monthly next year when i'm expecting it to go over the 60000 mile mark? Will this allow me to keep the same level of cover even though i'll be over 60000 miles?

Also, i've heard that the emergency service isn't worth including. Is this correct? If so, what are my alternatives?

Also, I think a £100 excess is a nice happy medium for me. I've yet to have any warranty issues and paying £100 doesn't bother me but the £0 excess policy seems to be substantially more. What does everybody else tend to go with?

Many thanks

Afaik, emergency service is breakdown cover which you'll most likely have with your insurance anyway (I do!) so long as you've not ticked over 60k come renewal then paying the annual premium is cheaper this time but you then go to monthly which should keep your payments the same even once you've exceeded 60k which wouldn't be the case were you to pay annually again.

I'm sure Mr F will confirm later....

Emergency service is breakdown cover but it's very very good cover and good value at about 80 quid a year. It has full hire car cover, onward travel, international assistance etc.

Ok thanks guys, i'll take the annual cover this year with the breakdown cover as I don't get this with my insurance (didn't add it as I already have BMW warranty with emergency services).

If you paid for 12 months cover and sold the car privately after 6 months I assume the remaining 6 months warranty goes with the car to the new owner?
